Skatepark

The skate park is located behind the Recreation Center at 5151 North Colony Blvd. The idea came from a group of kids from Peters Colony Elementary School. They came to a CDC Board meeting and asked the board to consider building a skate park. A public hearing was held and many residents, adults and kids, expressed their support for the project. Funding from the CDC Board was approved. Some of the kids who presented this project to the board helped design the park. The park is constructed on a 76' x 74' concrete slab and is enclosed by an 8 ft. fence. There are quarter pipe wedges, grinding rails, fun boxes, grinding benches and a free style area. There is no fee to use the skate park. Helmets and kneepads are not required but are strongly recommended. There is a list of rules specifically for the skate park on the fence. The park opened in September 2003.
